Named afterthe River Sheaf which runs through the town, Sheffield is a part of the four divisions of South Yorkshire, situated in North of England, about 1 hour far from Leeds or Manchester, and about 2:30 hours from London.

Because of its woodland and public parks Sheffield is known as the greenest area in England, being also the fifth largest city in UK.

A big part of Sheffield is sheltered in a natural monument created by hills, rivers and sea, with the lowest level above sea situated at 10 m, and higher point at over 500 m.

There are many suburbs and neighborhoods in Sheffield, some of them evolved from little villages which were assimilated later to the town.

The Millennium Galleries are one of the main architectural attractions of the city. It has two levels, and a lot of things to discover, including galleries of visual arts and design. Inside the gallery there is an internal street that links to the second attraction, the Winter Garden, the biggest botanical garden in the UK.   

Sheffield is unique for its very developed theatre complexes in England and also for its galleries and museum. Another attraction in Sheffield is the Peak National Park, which is situated less then 5 miles away from the city. It also has the most successful shopping centre in England and it is publicly known for having one of the best nightlife around the world.
